The $65 dash cam I almost skipped just got me out of a ticket in Toledo
My buddy kept insisting it would pay for itself someday, but I figured it was just another gadget until a guy slammed on brakes in front of me and tried to claim I rear-ended him, and the footage flipped the whole thing in two minutes at the police station, anyone else keep one just for the peace of mind or am I the only paranoid one?

Damn, did the cop actually watch it right there or did they make you jump through hoops first?

Man, I read a story about that exact thing last week. Some guy in Ohio posted his dashcam footage and the officer made him pull over to a parking lot and watch the whole thing on the cop's laptop. Took like 20 minutes with the AC blasting. I guess it really depends on the officer's mood or how bored they are. If they're already in a decent mood, they'll just take your word for it and type up the report. But if they've had a rough shift, yeah, you're sitting there playing movie critic for them. Most people don't realize the cop can actually request the file and send it to the station's server, but a lot of them don't bother. Honestly, I'd rather get the whole thing over with than have them call me back in three days about some corrupted file.
