Spent $150 on a 'premium' forum analytics tool and it basically just told me the time of day
I was hoping for some real insight into what questions people actually want answered, but the reports were just basic page view counts anyone could get for free. Has anyone found a tool that actually helps figure out what to write about next?

What a total waste of money. Those tools are mostly junk. Honestly, you're better off just reading the forum yourself for a couple hours. Look for threads with a ton of replies that go off topic, that's where the real questions are hiding. The free version of Google Analytics can show you what people search for to find your site, which is way more useful. I've been burned by that same promise of "deep insights" before.
