Shoutout to the guy at Home Depot who warned me about sketchy extension cords
I was buying a 50-foot cord for my table saw last Saturday and this older dude stocking lumber walked over and told me to check the gauge rating before I bought. He said most cheap cords at big box stores are way too thin for power tools and can literally melt inside the rubber without tripping a breaker. I went with a 12-gauge instead of the 14-gauge I was gonna grab. Has anyone else nearly burned down their shop with undersized wiring?

Can't believe how many people have no idea about that. A 14-gauge cord on a table saw is basically asking for a fire, man. Good thing that old timer saved your ass lol.

Yeah seriously, that kind of mistake could've ended really bad. Glad someone with experience was around to catch it before things got ugly.
