Serious question, how long does it actually take for a new haircut to settle into something you like?

I got a pretty drastic cut 3 weeks ago from a barber in Portland and for the first 10 days I hated it, but around day 13 it just started looking right and now it's my favorite cut ever, has anyone else experienced this weird delayed satisfaction thing with a new style?

Blew 50 bucks on a buzzcut fade at a shop in Austin back in March and for the first week I looked like a peeled onion. I just kept messing with it everyday, pushing the top forward and letting the sides grow out a bit. Around day 9 I finally stopped hating my reflection. Now I just get the same guy to clean up the neckline every 3 weeks and it works.

Got the same fade in March and felt like a bald egg for a solid week. I kept running my hand over it and hating the sharp line where the fade started. Once the top grew out enough to push forward it finally clicked and now I'm locked in with the same barber every few weeks too.
