Ran into my old high school teacher at a gas station and she remembered my full name after 15 years
She told me she still uses my essay about local creek pollution as an example for her biology classes, and I honestly had no idea what to say next - has anyone else had a moment where a simple comment from someone totally changed how you saw yourself?

That line about "totally changed how you saw yourself" is a bit dramatic. She remembered your essay, sure, but it's still just one paper you wrote years back. Good on you for writing it well, but don't let a teacher's compliment rewrite your whole life story or anything.
