My niece asked me 'how did you find anything before Google?' and it made me remember the old library card catalog.

Remember when maps were just paper? I miss the feeling of unfolding one on the dashboard and actually figuring out the route yourself. It felt like a real accomplishment.

Getting properly lost with a paper map was a rite of passage, @wrenstone. There was a weird satisfaction in tracing the route with your finger and hoping you folded the thing correctly. Now my phone just reroutes me around a squirrel.
