I finally figured out the best way to get clear answers on this forum
Last week, I was trying to fix a weird noise in my car and posted a question here. I just said 'My car is making a noise, what is it?' and got a bunch of guesses. I was stuck. So, I went back and tried again. This time, I wrote down exactly when it happens, like only when turning left after driving for 10 minutes. I said the car is a 2012 Honda Civic and the sound is a high-pitched squeal from the front right. I posted that new question and got a specific answer in an hour. Someone said it was probably the wheel bearing and even linked a video. Being super detailed changed everything. Has anyone else had a question that got way better answers after adding more specifics?

Totally agree with your point about being super detailed. I read a tech article once that called this "debugging your own question" before you even ask it. The writer said most people just describe the symptom, but the fix always comes from explaining the exact conditions. Your car example is perfect. "High-pitched squeal from the front right when turning left after ten minutes" gives people the clues they need to connect the dots. I tried the same thing when my laptop fan was going crazy and listed what programs were running. Got a fix right away instead of just "clean the dust out." It feels like doing a bit of homework first saves everyone time.

Sometimes you just need to vent without a full report.
