I finally asked my dentist why my gums were bleeding and the answer was super simple

Honestly, I noticed it for like a month every time I brushed, so I brought it up at my checkup last Tuesday. Ngl, she just said I was scrubbing way too hard with my toothbrush and to switch to a softer one and be more gentle. Has anyone else had this happen and did just being less aggressive actually fix it for you?

Wait, you can actually wear a groove into your gums...

Saw a thing online that called it "toothbrush trauma." Basically you can wear a little groove right into your gums if you're going at it like you're scrubbing a tile grout. My hygienist told me to hold the brush with just my fingertips, not my whole fist, to force a lighter touch. Stopped seeing pink in the sink after about a week of being conscious about it. Makes sense when you think about it, gums are soft tissue, not a driveway.

Guess @pipera50's hygienist has never seen me try to clean my truck's floor mats.
