I confronted my neighbor about his barking dog at 3am last night

I've been dealing with this golden retriever going off every night for three weeks straight, and I finally snapped around midnight on Tuesday. I went over there and knocked on his door, ready to yell, but he just looked exhausted and said the dog has separation anxiety since his wife left. Should I just call the cops next time or keep trying to talk it out with him?

Hang on, you're talking about reporting a guy who's clearly going through it. Give the dude a few days to figure things out before you make his life worse with the cops.
