Unpopular opinion: the museum in Cairo left a 3,500 year old wooden chair just sitting out with no case
I was at the Egyptian Museum on a Tuesday morning and walked right up to a chair from King Tut's tomb that had zero glass around it, just a little rope on the floor. A guard watched me lean over and snap a pic from about 2 feet away and he did not care at all. How are small museums supposed to protect stuff when the big ones are basically letting you breathe on 3,000 year old wood?
