I was working a dig site near Pompeii last spring, got overconfident with my troweling angle (rookie move, I know), and the piece split right down the middle before I could even say 'oops' - has anyone else had a tool choice totally backfire on them like that?

Had to learn this one the hard way myself with an old ceramic piece. Spent hours cleaning it, got too confident, put too much pressure in one spot and it just split right down the middle.
