PSA: I used to just eyeball my trench profiles until a professor in Tucson made me draw every single layer for a month straight.

Now I spend 3 hours on a single 2-meter section drawing every pebble and color change because I'm scared she'll show up and ask to see my field notes again.

Tbh that professor did you a favor. Drawing every pebble is how you actually learn to see what's in the ground.
