Found a Roman coin in my backyard in Ohio last month

I was digging a post hole for a new fence and hit something hard about 8 inches down. Turned out to be a small bronze coin with a bust on it. A guy at the local university dated it to around 300 AD. Has anyone else found Roman stuff way outside the usual areas like Europe or the Mediterranean?

Could it have been dropped by a collector way back when?

Yeah totally possible. Found a vintage soda bottle cap once in the middle of nowhere, no idea how it got there either.
