Dropped $150 on a ground-penetrating radar survey for my backyard in Ohio and it actually paid off
Found a buried cellar from the 1800s under my garden plot, now I'm digging up old bottles and farm tools instead of planting tomatoes, has anyone else tried this for their property?

Backyard gear reveals more layers than people give it credit for.

Has that thing ever picked up anything totally random, like an old septic tank or a forgotten pipe? I rented a cheap metal detector once and spent a whole weekend digging up rusted horseshoes and a weird metal box that turned out to be a lunch pail from the 1940s (still had a crusty sandwich inside, which was gross). The soil here in northeast Pennsylvania is full of surprises, mostly old trash but sometimes a cool button or a bottleneck.
