Love how the real drama is in some grad student's footnote about sediment layers. Nothing gets my heart racing like a heated debate over carbon dating margins of error in the supplementary materials.

Remember that footnote war in the Smithson paper? I got so into it I made a color-coded spreadsheet cross-referencing all the cited core samples. It was the only way to see whose margin of error math actually held up.
