Vent: I used to laugh at the guy who wore spikes in the bucket, until I watched him stay put in a gust at a job in Reno
I always figured bucket spikes were for showoffs, but last month in Reno a gust hit while I was reaching out with a pole saw and I about ate the rail. Anyone else switch over after a close call like that?

Funny how the stuff we mock usually turns out to be someone else's hard lesson. Same thing happens with safety glasses, seat belts, bike helmets, nobody bothers until the day it saves them. The spikes were never about looking cool, they were about still being on that roof when the wind changes.

@stone.evan roofing spikes are like jumper cables, you only get why when you need em.
