Overheard a homeowner call an oak 'just a big weed' and it stuck with me
Was doing a removal estimate in Boulder on Tuesday and the guy pointed at this mature red oak, maybe 60 years old, and said that. I tried to explain the habitat value, the shade, the soil benefits, but he just shrugged. It got me thinking about how we talk to clients who see trees as scenery instead of living infrastructure. Do you guys have a go-to way to change that mindset without sounding preachy? I feel like I fumbled it.
