My dad's hand crosscut saw versus the 36cc saw I bought in 2019, and how I learned to stop sneering at the old way
Back in 2019 I bought a little 36cc saw and figured my dad's old two-man crosscut was just a wall piece. Then a limb came down across a fence line near my place in Spokane with no room to swing a bar, and out of ideas I dug the crosscut out of the shed. It pulled a clean kerf in about 4 minutes without nicking the wire, while the power saw sat there useless. Now the crosscut hangs by the door and the saw stays in the truck more than I expected. Anybody here still keep a hand saw in rotation, and what's your go to tooth pattern?
