Just hit 500 trees planted in a single season and it made me question the whole 'more is better' mindset.

Our crew in Madison was pushing hard to beat last year's numbers, focusing on getting as many bare-root oaks and maples in the ground as possible. When I tallied my personal count at 500, I realized a lot of those trees got a rushed planting job with minimal soil prep or follow-up care. Has anyone else felt like chasing a big planting number actually hurts tree establishment in the long run?

Honestly, 500 trees is still 500 trees that weren't there before. Tbh, a rushed planting seems better than no planting at all.

But @xena_anderson, a rushed planting can kill those trees, wasting all the effort and money.
