I was the only one who refused to top that oak in Springfield
A homeowner in Springfield wanted a 60-foot pin oak topped because he was scared of a storm. Every other crew there said it was fine, just charge for the work. I walked off the job. The next spring, that tree was covered in weak, fast-growing water sprouts and looked awful. It's been five years and it's still a hazard. When did 'customer is always right' become more important than the tree's health?

Wasn't topping the tree itself what created the hazard?

Exactly! My neighbor topped his oak last year. Now it's just a weird looking pole with sad little branches.
