Hot take: Heard a landscaper in Charlotte say topping a tree is fine if the client wants it.
That's just lazy work and kills the tree in 5 years. When do you walk away from a job like that?

Wait, rot and decay? That sounds pretty extreme for what we're talking about. I've seen some issues, sure, but calling it "rot" feels like a big stretch. Maybe you just had a really bad example? Most of the time it's just normal wear and tear, not some total collapse.
