Hot take: a 45 minute climb in an old oak taught me more than any class
Two weeks ago I got called out to a 90 foot white oak in Roanoke that had a split leader hanging right over a driveway, and the only way up was through a tight crotch about 40 feet off the ground. I spent 20 minutes just setting my line and planning the climb instead of rushing it, and the whole removal went smooth with zero hangups. How do you all decide when it makes more sense to climb it versus just rent a lift for the day?
