TIL the $12 security bit set for my NES was the whole problem, not the 72 pin connector
Spent 3 weeks thinking my childhood NES was dead, bought a $12 gamebit screwdriver set on a whim, and found out the pins just needed a clean with isopropyl, so has anyone else fixed a console for way less than they expected to spend?
Honestly a lot of "dead" consoles are just dirty, people jump to replacing parts way too fast. Tbh the cleaning fix is usually the answer, not some major repair.
