Stuck between a CRT monitor and an LCD for retro gaming. Picked the CRT.

Got my hands on a beat up Trinitron from a guy on Craigslist for free. My LCD with a line doubler just wasn't cutting it for light gun games. The input lag was brutal on Time Crisis. Hooked up the CRT and man. The colors popped. The scan lines look perfect. No more tweaking settings every five minutes. Signal chain is just composite straight to the tube. Has anyone else gone back to a bulky CRT just for Duck Hunt or House of the Dead? Worth the desk space?

Buddy of mine dragged a 27 inch Sony Wega up three flights of stairs for House of the Dead 2. Said it was worth every bit of back pain when the gun actually lined up with the zombies on screen. Swears he’ll never go back to LCD for anything with a light gun.

Wait three flights of stairs for a Wega? @rowan666 that's insane, I would've just sold the gun and bought a pizza instead. Totally agree on the payoff though, light guns on LCD are basically just pointing at random and hoping.
