Showerthought: my 2003 GameCube stopped reading discs and I almost tossed it in the trash
Two weeks ago my GameCube quit reading discs, so I assumed the laser was dead and started looking at repair guys in Portland who wanted $70 just to open it. Before paying up, I popped the shell off and nudged the little potentiometer screw by the lens a tiny bit with a Phillips head, maybe a quarter turn. It fired right up and played Mario Kart for two hours straight with zero skips. Did the disc drive on yours ever act up, or did yours die for good?
