Showerthought: I blew $25 on a "new" power supply for my old NES that just needed a $3 replacement tip
Last week my NES wouldn't turn on no matter how many times I blew into the cartridge, so I panicked and bought a $25 third party power supply off eBay because the original brick was getting hot. Turns out the actual problem was the tip on my OEM power supply had bent just enough to lose contact, and a $3 replacement tip from the local electronics shop in Canton fixed it in five minutes. Has anyone else been tricked into buying a whole new power supply when the real issue was just one dumb little tip?
