Passed 100 restored Commodore 64s last night
I was moving units around in my workshop counting for a local retro show in Portland and hit exactly 102 machines I've brought back to life. That surprised me because I started this just to fix my own childhood C64, not build a whole side business. Most of them just needed new PLA chips and some reflowing on the VIC-II socket. Has anyone else lost count of how many they've fixed?

Isn't that how most good things start, just trying to fix one thing for yourself?

Hmm, I actually push back on that a little. Most good things I've seen or been part of started with someone trying to solve a problem for other people, not just themselves. Like, someone making a community group because they saw neighbors struggling, not because they personally needed the help. When you only fix things for yourself, you can miss the bigger picture and what actually matters.
