My old Amiga 500 went from a paperweight to my main machine after a simple fix

For about a year it would just show a black screen, and I was ready to give up. Then I read on a forum that a specific 47uF capacitor on the power supply board always fails. I replaced it for less than two bucks and it booted right up. Has anyone else brought an old Amiga back from the dead with a single part?

Wait, a single capacitor? That's all it took? I had to recap my entire A1200 board, like twenty of those things were bad.

That "entire board" recap is exactly why I'm terrified to even open my A500's case.

lol "a single capacitor" - reminds me of the time my buddy fixed his dead C64 just by wiggling the power switch back and forth like 50 times. We were losing our minds watching it slowly come back to life. Sometimes these old machines just need a little tough love before you start desoldering everything in sight.
