My buddy's comment about his 1998 iMac made me stop and think
We were cleaning out his garage in St. Paul and he pointed at his old blue iMac and said, 'It's not broken, it just needs a new hard drive and someone who remembers how to use Mac OS 9.' I'd always just seen these as dead weight, but he was right, it's a working machine with one fixable part. How do you decide when an old computer is worth the time to fix versus just being a display piece?

Oh man, I fixed up an old PowerBook just to play some classic games! If it runs the stuff you love, it's totally worth the effort.
