Found my grandpa's old Zenith TV from 1972 in the basement last week

It still turned on after I cleaned the dust out, but the picture was all wavy, so I spent Saturday tweaking the vertical hold knob and now it works fine for watching DVDs has anyone else had luck with old CRT sets flickering back to life after a simple adjustment?

Wow, wait, you actually got it to turn on after almost fifty years in a basement? That's insane, most of those old sets have capacitors that dry out completely. I'm lowkey impressed the vertical hold knob even still worked after all that dust.

Wavy picture" is just a bad connection, not really bringing a 70s set back from the dead.
