Found a TRS-80 Model III still running a car wash in Spokane
I stopped at a car wash off Division Street in Spokane last weekend and the guy at the counter was typing on a TRS-80 Model III. It was running his whole ticket system, green text on black and all. He told me it has been in there since 1982 and the only thing he ever replaced was the power supply about 9 years back. I asked if he worries about it dying and he just shrugged and pointed at a spare unit under the counter he bought at a yard sale for $20. Anyone else run into old machines still doing real work out in the wild?
