Finally got my old Apple IIe to boot after 17 years in a closet
Honestly, I found it at my parents' place last weekend and the power supply was totally dead. I ordered a new one for $35 and swapped it out, which was scary. When I flipped the switch and heard that beep and saw the prompt, I was so surprised. Has anyone else brought something back from the dead that you thought was a lost cause?

I used to be the first person to just toss broken stuff. Fixing that old radio last year really changed my mind though, it's way more satisfying. Now I always check if something can be saved.

Overthink this a bit for me - what is it about fixing that old radio that clicked for you? Was it just the money saved, or something deeper like proving to yourself that you could do it? I've noticed for me it's almost like a stubbornness thing now, where I refuse to let something beat me lol. But I'm curious if that's true for you too, or if it's more about the actual result of having a working item again.

Isn't it wild how much stuff we keep just in case? Feels good to actually fix something instead of throwing it out.
