Cassette deck belts vs. new pinch rollers, belts were the easy win

I spent 3 weeks chasing wow and flutter on an old Pioneer deck, cleaned the capstan and even swapped the pinch roller. Then I checked the belt, it was stretched half an inch loose, 2 bucks from an eBay seller in Ohio and it plays perfect now. Anyone else skip belts and overthink the mechanical parts first?
