Took my Yashica to the coast and the shutter jammed on sand after 20 minutes
Last weekend I drove out to Cape May with my Yashica-Mat to shoot the lighthouse. Setup was fine, took maybe 12 frames, then the shutter started sticking at slower speeds. Opened up the lens board and found fine sand had worked its way into the release mechanism. I never thought about beach conditions for a TLR. Now I keep a ziplock bag and a blower in my bag whenever I'm near shore. Has anyone else had sand wreck a shutter at the beach or did I just get unlucky with that particular camera?
