That $35 lens cleaning kit did more harm than good

Picked up one of those budget cleaning kits with the blower brush and solution from a camera shop in Columbus last month. Thought I was being smart saving cash, but the solution left a haze on my 50mm that took three tries with a microfiber cloth to fix. Idk if it was just a bad batch or if those kits are always junk. Has anyone else had luck with a specific cleaner that actually works without residue?

You ever blow $35 on something and immediately regret it? I used to think any kit from a camera store was fine, but after one left streaks that looked like dried soap on my 24-70, I switched to just a basic squeeze blower and a clean lens cloth with a drop of pure alcohol. Turns out the cheap solution is usually the problem, not the cloth. Now I only touch glass with the blower first and a dry micro cloth, and I haven't seen haze since.
