Spent 4 hours trying to fix a light leak that was just a loose lens ring

I picked up an old Canon AE-1 from a flea market last month and kept getting these weird streaks on my negatives. Spent a whole Sunday taking the back off, checking the foam seals, even replaced the light baffles. Turns out the front lens element ring had worked itself loose by maybe half a turn. Tightened it with a rubber grip and the streaks vanished. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on something that simple?

Streaks always turn out to be the dumbest thing, happens with everything in life really.

Spencer hit the nail on the head there... streaks are just the worst. It's like the universe knows you're trying to keep something going and immediately throws a brick through the window. I tried keeping a gym streak once and ended up going with a cold just because I didn't want to break it. Dumbest thing I ever did, and I've done a lot of dumb stuff. @spencer_johnson22 probably knows exactly what I mean, it's always the same cycle of hype then regret.
