Overheard a guy at the photo lab say he cleans his lens elements with Windex and a paper towel

I actually tried it on a cheap 50mm I didn't care about and it left micro scratches that showed up under a flashlight. Anyone else got a go-to cleaning method that won't ruin a vintage lens?

Dude, just use a microfiber cloth and lens cleaner fluid.

My buddy Mark scratched his camera lens using a regular t-shirt because he thought it was fine. He learned the hard way that only a microfiber cloth works.
