Overhead a guy at the camera shop say film grain is just 'digital noise from the 80s'
He was dead serious too, trying to convince a kid that Tri-X 400 was basically a low-res JPEG. Has anyone else run into people who treat film flaws like they're just old tech bugs?

About 15 years ago I worked with a guy who swore vinyl crackle was just "bad audio engineering from the 60s." Honestly people get so caught up in technical specs they forget the whole reason we still use this stuff is because of the character, not despite it. Ngl that camera shop guy missed the point harder than someone saying a well worn leather jacket is just a defect.

That leather jacket comparison is spot on. My buddy once spent a whole night trying to convince his brother that the scratches on his old Stratocaster just made it sound better, not worse.
