My enlarger timer fell in the developer tray. Twice.

Last month I was printing in my basement and knocked my GraLab timer right into the Dektol. First time was a splash, second time it actually turned on while submerged. I dried it out with rice for three days and it still works, but now it smells like a wet dog wearing chemicals. Has anyone else killed a timer or lens with chemistry? I'm thinking about just taping it to the wall.

Man, that sucks. Dektol is brutal on everything it touches, so at least your timer survived. Tape that thing down or just switch to a cheap wall mount before it takes a third swim.
