Been developing my own black and white for 8 years and swore by Diafine until I tried HC-110 last month
I always thought Diafine was the only way to get decent shadow detail without blowing out highlights, but a friend at our camera club in Denver pushed me to try HC-110 with a 1:47 dilution. The grain is actually sharper and the contrast feels way more controllable than I ever gave it credit for. Now I'm wondering how many other sacred cows in film developing are worth a second look?

Why do I keep buying new film developers when I still can't get my exposures right in the first place?

Tbh you're just buying confidence in a bottle instead of a light meter.

Aw man, but a light meter won't help you if you don't know how to use one either. Confidence in a bottle might get you closer to decent results than a meter you're scared to touch.
