Thought the EOS 3 was overhyped, now it's my main shooter for portraits

I shot manual Nikons for like 6 years and figured anyone using autofocus film bodies was just lazy, so I picked up an EOS 3 for $160 at a camera swap in Portland to prove a point to myself. Then I tried it with the 50mm f/1.4 and the eye-controlled focus actually nailed sharp eyes on a moving kid at f/1.8, which I'd miss 3 out of 10 times with my FM2. Has anyone else been converted by a feature they swore was just a gimmick on paper?
