That old timer at the camera show changed my film loading habit
I've shot 35mm for years and always rewound by feel until the leader disappeared inside. Last spring at a camera swap meet in Portland, an older guy saw me fighting with a stuck spool and said, 'You're overthinking it, just press the rewind button and let it spin till it stops.' I used to think letting the leader out was safer for development, but he explained that most labs will snip it anyway and it only risks scratches. Tried his way on three rolls since and saved myself a lot of fumbling in the dark. Has anyone else gotten a simple tip from a stranger that made you ditch your old method?

A guy at a flea market told me to stop cranking so hard when rewinding and just go slow and steady, and my spools stopped jamming after that. Been doing it that way for two years now with no issues. Funny how some random tip just sticks with you forever.
