Read a comment in a Facebook group saying bulk rolled film is 'basically the same' as factory rolls, and I just don't buy it

This is the same thing that happens with everything. People want the cheap option to be just as good so they can feel smart about saving a few bucks. Coffee, tools, sneakers, film, doesnt matter. Sometimes the cheap version really is fine and sometimes you get what you pay for. Bulk rolled film can be decent if the person rolling it knows what theyre doing but "basically the same" is a stretch. Its the same stock maybe but the handling and storage and how its rolled all change things.
