My uncle's advice about loading film in shade saved my roll at Zion
He told me to always load film with my back to the sun after I ruined a roll at Bryce Canyon in 2021, and last weekend at Zion it kept my Portra 400 from fogging completely.

Did the shade trick actually stop the fogging or just slow it down once the sun hit? Curious because Portra 400 is pretty forgiving but Zion in summer is brutal. Give me the real details on how bad that roll would have been without it.
