My film advance lever jammed at a wedding shoot last month

I was in the middle of the bride's bouquet toss in a park in Portland and my Canon AE-1 just locked up solid. I had to pop the back open in a dark closet to gently coax the spool back, then lost 3 shots of the sequence but salvaged the rest of the roll.

Honestly, did you wiggle it while pressing the shutter or just the lever itself?

and it's wild because the exact same thing happened to me at a friend's wedding last fall, lol. i was so panicked but i realized the spool was just a little too tight and i had to gently wiggle the advance lever back and forth while pressing the shutter button a few times. totally saved the roll without having to pop the back open in a dark closet like you did, but hey, you made it work. glad you got most of the shots though, that bouquet toss is always a killer moment to miss.
