Loading my Paterson tank in a hostel bathroom in Lisbon, dropped the reel twice
The lights were on a timer so I ended up spooling the film by feel in the dark with wet hands, and only the first two frames got fogged. Anyone else load film in weird places when they travel?

Wet hands are the real enemy here, not the dark. Film absorbs moisture fast and that makes it stick to itself on the reel, which is why you got lucky with only two fogged frames. A cheap trick is to keep a small towel wrapped around your wrist so you can dry your fingers without setting anything down.
