I used to write down every frame on a notepad, now I just guess and my scans are a mess

Back when I started shooting film in 2019 I kept a little notebook in my bag and wrote down the frame number, shutter speed, and aperture for every single shot on my Pentax K1000. Now I just blast through a roll of Portra 400 at a birthday party in Austin and hope for the best, and last week I got back 36 scans where half were blurry and I had no idea why. The thing is I got lazy because the lab does such a good job that I stopped caring about my own settings. I know I should go back to the notebook but it feels like so much work when I am just trying to hang out with people. Does anyone actually keep notes anymore or did you all give up like me?
