Disagree: everyone hates the tourist shot at Monument Valley, but I love it
I drove out to Monument Valley last month and spent 3 days shooting with my Pentax K1000. Everyone online says the classic view from the overlook is boring and overdone, but I loaded a roll of Portra 400 and got some of my favorite frames there. The light at 7am hit the mittens in a way that no clever composition could beat, and I even asked a few strangers to pose with their vintage gear for scale. Is the popular shot really lazy, or are we just afraid to admit we like the obvious view?
