Broke the rewind crank on my Pentax K1000 mid roll and taped it back with electrical tape
Was out shooting near the Fremont bridge in Seattle on Saturday when the plastic tip on my K1000's rewind crank just snapped clean off. I tried to rewind the roll by hand and felt the film tear at frame 19, so I gave up and taped the crank back on to finish the roll. Now I have to figure out if the lab can even save anything off it or if I just lost 19 shots of my kid at the park. Has anyone else had a rewind crank let go on them, and is it worth replacing or should I just find another body?

Frame 19 tearing is the real problem here, not the crank, since the lab can sometimes pull a partial roll if the tear is clean but electrical tape residue on the spool can gum up their machine.
