Update: I just wired my 500th smoke detector in a single apartment complex

The job was at the new Riverwalk Towers downtown, and it took three of us a full week to get them all in. I've never seen that many units in one place before. What's the most detectors you've ever had to install on a single site?

Honestly, 500 is a crazy number for one building. Makes you think about the sheer scale of the wiring behind the walls. I've done a few big condo flips where we put in over 200 combined smoke and CO units, and that felt endless. The worst part is the system testing at the end, chasing down one faulty unit in a sea of them. Really makes you respect the planning that goes into a job that size.

Yeah, chasing down one faulty unit sounds like a nightmare. A buddy of mine had a similar thing happen on a hotel job, took them two days just to find the one beeping smoke alarm. Makes you really feel for the guys on that 500-unit job @felix_jones mentioned.
